Join us, South Hero Land Trust, and the Friends of Northern Lake Champlain for a guided walk and bird outing at the Roy Marsh!

The Roy Marsh is a perfect place to learn about the important role that wetland buffers play in water quality and wildlife, including birds. Bridget Butler, FNLC Executive Director aka The Bird Diva, will be our guide as we learn about wetlands and the diversity of bird species found there. We'll use our walk as a lens to understand wetlands, the benefits of buffers, and the gift of providing habitat for birds. The marsh boasts sightings of close to 200 species of birds!

The outing will be limited to 20 participants.

Please dress for the weather and bring binoculars if you have them. Need binoculars? We'll have pairs for folks to borrow. There are no bathroom facilities at the site, so please plan accordingly. 

Trail information: The Roy Marsh Trail runs along the old Island Line Railroad through the Roy Marsh Wildlife Management Area. The surface is grass and packed dirt, with negligible slope and cross slope and an average width of 3-4 feet. Please go to the Roy Marsh Trail page for more information.
