Our goal is to support stewardship by providing technical, financial, and educational resources to support the needs of the local community.
We serve land stewards and communities across Grand Isle County with:
Agricultural Producer Support
To support our working lands, we provide program and resource navigation and coordination services support in nutrient management planning, soil sampling, grant application assistance, conservation planning and design, and water quality and habitat improvement projects, as well as, to help achieve your conservation goals.
Natural Resources Support
For those looking to be good stewards of the land and water, we offer individual or group assessments and provide technical and educational assistance to identify solutions. Examples of technical assistance include addressing shoreline erosion, planting native trees, developing wildlife habitats, and mitigating stormwater runoff.
Stream Wise
Do you live by a stream or brook? Learn how to protect and restore its health as a Stream steward. In partnership with Friends of Northern Lake Champlain, we’ll visit your property and offer recommendations to enhance your streamside habitat.
Building Partnerships
We partner closely with local, state, and federal decision-makers to ensure natural resource policies and funding reflect the needs of the local community.
Outreach & Education
We share knowledge and offer expertise to the community through workshops, public meetings, one-on-one support, and more on a range of natural resource interests.
Project Development & Management
Across shorelines, streambanks, wetlands, and roads, we manage the identification, design, and implementation of projects and best management practices focused on clean water.
All of our services are voluntary. As a non-regulatory entity, we do not enforce compliance or impose penalties, but instead offer recommendations and advice.
